Vast lake in north Idaho. Nice scenic byway to drive
Scenic lake and a beautiful city. The place offers well maintained bike lanes with boating, kayaking and paddle boarding activities. Best weekend getaway for families and young couples. Around the lake the town offers a good number of restaurants, cafes, and museums to spend a relaxing evening.
Beautiful, large lake great for boating, fishing and sightseeing the beautiful lake homes along the way.
Lake Coeur d'Alene was beautiful and huge there are small towns around the lake many with docking... restaurants and bars. We rented a pontoon for a fair price...it was the best way to see all areas and a few towns. We spent the whole day on the lake it was a great time!
Beautiful Lake! Amazing place to vacation. The lake and watersports, seaplane rides, and biking/multi-use trails around the lake. Coeur d'Alene is a great little downtown to walk, with Huckleberry everything, good restaurants. Take a short boat ride from Coeur d'Alene resort to the golf course and have an amazing breakfast on the patio overlooking the floating green
If I win the lottery I'm buying a home here, beautiful lake, with the forested hills surrounding the lake, love it, very friendly people here in Idaho!!!
There are a lot of uses for logs on the lake. A substantial amount of them have broken free and lay haphazardly along the edge of the water. For being so far out in this wilderness that part was disappointing. Otherwise it was very nice to be out on the lake!
The second-largest lake in Idaho is less than ten miles east of downtown, with a comfortable surface temperature of around 70 °F in the summer months.
Conveniently, the largest city on the lakeshore, Coeur d’Alene, is right next door to Post Falls, which puts a wealth of amenities and experiences at your fingertips.
You can take a scenic cruise on the lake, walk a network of well-maintained trails, visit attractions like a cute llama farm, dine in the charming downtown area, go fishing or simply lie back next to this natural wonder.
City Park has an exquisite lakeside promenade and a stretch of beach, while McEuen Park has recently been renovated with a large splash pad that children adore in summer.
Lastly, Kokanee salmon migrate to the lake in fall and winter to spawn by the gravelly shoreline, and this event attracts dozens of bald eagles, best viewed at Wolf Lodge Bay, a few miles east of Coeur d’Alene proper.
